Judge Brett Kavanaugh was just days away from being voted in as the next Supreme Court Justice by the Senate Judicial Committee but out of no where allegations that he sexually assaulted a young woman while in high school put things to a screeching halt. Yesterday, I along with millions of other people were glued to the testimony given by the accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Kavanaugh. Dr. Ford’s testimony was compelling and heartbreaking. I believe her. She has nothing to gain by coming forward with her accounts of what happened that day at a house party in the summer of 1982. If anything, her and her family has been greatly inconvenienced. They’ve received numerous threats forcing the family to move from their home.
Judge Kavanaugh came out guns blazing. He was defensive, rude and obnoxious to say the least. He was combative when asked questions by Democratic Senate members. Keep in mind, this is a job interview. I try to be neutral and nice when it comes to my posts but this dude was a complete ass hole. His white privilege and sense of entitlement shined through ever so brightly. Needless say, I think he’s lying like a rug as my grandmother would say.
It baffles me that Republicans and even women are for this man being appointed to the highest court in the land for a lifetime. We potentially will have to suffer the consequences of this choice for the next 35 years. Call your senators. Tell them to vote against this man. If you are not registered to vote, please do so you can let your voice be heard during the mid-term elections in November.
